GWC is launching a major new campaign initiative that will run from now through the end of February.  It is to get our local government officials to pass resolutions calling on the legislature to fully fund the environmental trust funds.  Currently, the fees collected for the Hazardous Waste Trust Fund, the Solid Waste Trust Fund, and the Erosion and Sedimentation Fee Program are not required to be dedicated only for use by those programs.  This means we must trust our legislators to appropriate the money as it was intended, which is something they have not done for the last three years.  During this fiscal period, for every dollar collected from Georgia citizens for these funds, only about 30 cents is spent on the environmental programs for which it was collected!  Where is the Trust in the Environmental Trust Funds?
